Janine van Rooy

Public Liaison Officer

Janine has served South Africa with distinction at both National and Provincial Government levels. Her career in the public service span that of more than a decade. She is a trained Social Worker, and holds a National Diploma in Diplomacy, as well as a Certificate in International Relations and Diplomatic Management from the Clingendael Institute in The Hague, Netherlands. Her quest for change has prompted her to explore this opportunity in the agricultural sector, and more importantly in rural development. She has joined the organisation Partners in Agri Land Solutions (PALS) after a successful career as a South African Diplomat where she successfully represented and served South Africa in the International arena as part of the diplomatic corps in the employ of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation. Her most recent diplomatic tour of duty (2011-2015) was that of Counsellor Political to Brussels Belgium, accredited in both Belgium and Luxembourg, and responsible for Bilateral Relations with Economic Diplomacy, Twinning Agreements, and Tourism Promotion falling under her ambit. Prior to leaving DIRCO Janine was Acting Director on the file dealing with Transnational Organised Crime responsible for influencing international policy on specifically drugs and psychotropic substances, and reporting regularly to the United Nations in New York as well as to the IAEA in Vienna, Austria the International Office for Transnational Organised Crime.  Janine considers herself an adventurer. She recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro, (the roof of Africa) she undertook a journey into the Arctic Circle to mention only a few of her adventures. She envisage her next adventure to be that of summiting our very own Matroosberg Mountain, then only will she be well travelled.

Reinette was born in Ladismith (Western Cape) where she matriculated in 2003. She studied law at the University of Stellenbosch where she obtained a BComm Law (2006) and LLB (2008) degree and obtained a post-graduate diploma in Tax Law (2012) from the University of Stellenbosch. Reinette practice Law at Joubert Van Vuuren Inc in the fields of Commercial Law; Deceased Estates and Security Tenure Applications.

Gerrit van Vuuren was born in Cape Town and matriculated at Jan van Riebeeck High in 1983. His two years of National Service were highlighted by parachute jumping, iron man competitions and leadership training. He studied law at the University of Stellenbosch where he obtained the degrees BA Law (1989) and LLB (1991). During his time at University, he participated in various sports, debating championships and served as Primarius of Dagbreek Residence/Hostel (1989) and vice-chairman of the Student’s Representative Council (1990).

After he completed his articles and practised for two years at Marais Muller Yekiso in Cape Town, he moved to Ceres in 1996 where he joined Johan Rauch. The firm was known as Rauch Van Vuuren from 1999, but changed its name to Joubert Van Vuuren Inc in 2008.

Gerrit specializes in the fields of Negotiating property transactions; Contracts; Mediation; Commercial Law; Land Reform and Agricultural Projects and General Litigation.

Project and Admin Assistant

Fezeka was born in Mount Frere, Eastern Cape and matriculated in Indwe High School in 2005. In 2013, she obtained her Diploma in Agricultural Management, thereafter in 2014 obtained her B-Tech in Agricultural Management, then proceeded with her Masters in Agricultural Management with Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, which she obtained 2016. Fezeka joined the PALS team on 1 December 2016 and acts as a Project and Admin assistant.
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

A Board of Directors meets regularly to provide strategic direction and good corporate governance. Witzenberg PALS NPC is registered as a non-profit company and a public benefit organisation, in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
